About Us

The Lord gave Bishop Moody the vision early in 1979. He had his first planning meeting in Memphis TN with the late Bishop JW Denny, Elder John Lawrence and Elder and mother Kennedy. The first group consisted of 17 people. The group attended the UNAC convention in July in Los Angeles, California and was prayed for by the late presiding Bishop J.O. Patterson Sr. and was sent forth to Haiti, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. The Lord has sent forth this ministry all over the world since that time.

Dr. June and Chuck Rivers coordinated and led YOAM for many years while working side by side with Bishop Moody. Elder Marx and Sister Marie Succes are now the Directors and Coordinators for YOAM. YOAM currently has 3 groups and are believing God to grow in the near future. YOAM has traveled to over 70 nations ministering and reaching the lost. Group sizes usually consist of 30 to 40 members.

YOAM teams have been to Liberia, Panama, Dominican Republic, North Dakota (Native American Reservations), Nigeria, Ghana, Haiti, Mexico, Belize, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Brazil ,Guyana, Chili, Cuba, Turks and Caicos Islands, South Africa, the Philippines, Argentina, and the Bahamas. YOAM has traveled to some of these places more than once. Also, Team members often make return visits to follow-up on the work that the team has started.

Youth On A Mission provides opportunities for children, youth and adults to participate on a mission trip to an international country once a year. These trips are truly life-changing experiences that transform not only the lives of the people we serve but also the children, youth and adults that take part on the mission trip. YOAM is committed to helping, training and releasing young people to experience life as international missionaries. It's always hard work, but the payoff is incredible.
