Bishop Marx and Marie Succes

Meet Bishop Marx and Marie Succes, a couple whose enduring love has spanned since 1989. They've been blessed with two children, Marx II and his wife Amber, Maria and her Husband Erick. They've also been blessed with 2 grandsons; Marx III and Noah.

For over 35 years, they have been devoted members of Faith Temple COGIC in Evanston Illinois. Their journey began in the humble villages of Haiti and Jamaica, before coming to America at the age of ten years old.

Inspired by the late bishop Carlis L Moody Sr, they dedicated their lives to serving others, driven by the belief that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, deserved dignity, respect, and a chance for a better tomorrow. Marx and Marie have been the coordinators of Youth On A Mission (YOAM) for over a decade, taking young people all over the world to serve on short term missions trips.

Their story is a testament to the extraordinary impact that a devoted couple can have when they channel their faith and love into meaningful action.

Elder Alvin and supervisor Maria Perryman

Alvin L. Perryman, born in 1957 in Mississippi, and Supervisor Maria L. Perryman, a Chicago native, are a dedicated couple with a shared passion for ministry and education. They were married in 1982 began attending Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in 1983. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. In 2002 they started Harvest Temple Church of God in Christ! And currently have the Mobile Church Ministry.

Alvin leads global mission teams, focusing on the "GEM" project in Chingola, Zambia, where he's building a school for at-risk students. Maria, with a background in education, taught and held administrative roles before retiring in 2017 to pursue entrepreneurship in health and wellness. Both are actively involved in church life, missions, and leadership roles.

Together, they are committed to transforming lives through education and spreading the Gospel. Maria's career included teaching, literacy coaching, and administrative roles in education. She's also actively engaged in church life, missions, and leadership positions. Maria also leads a Bible reading group on Facebook and authored "One Minute Devotional," aiming to empower individuals for a Christ-centered life. Their story is one of faith, mentorship, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the world.

Charles A. and Dr. June Rivers

June and Chuck Rivers are Youth On A Mission (YOAM) team leaders. In 1989, June was appointed YOAM Coordinator by Bishop Carlis L. Moody, the late president of the Department of Missions. She and her husband have taken teams of youths and adults to countries on five of the seven continents and several Caribbean islands. Their daughter, Carla, since the age of eleven months old traveled with her parents each summer through most of her college years. She used her training in Spanish on trips to Spanish-speaking countries. Dr. Rivers retired from the position of executive director for the Office of Literacy of the Detroit Public Schools.

Besides her secular education, she has a Master of Divinity and a Counseling degree. Her passion for children led her to pursue Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) training so that the Vacation Bible School ministry of YOAM would be effective in winning many youths to Christ.

Chuck Rivers is the director of community relations for Southeast Michigan at Michigan State University. With a strong background in human resources and a master's degree in higher education administration, he is responsible for connecting the university with local leaders. Together, they have made significant contributions to the church, education, and the local and international communities.
